Covered my Dehler 29 lifelines with stainless steel bars to hold solar panels for a cruising trip in '09 and now want to go back to racing mode with the boat. Amsteel definitely has some advantages (see http://nasailor.com/2010/12/16/need-...-with-dyneema/).

But is the weight savings from Amsteel really significant? Is it worth the tradeoff in durability?
