    Default Sealant For Through Hull?

    Hi Folks,
I'm replacing through hulls, The threads in place don't fit NorthAmerican fittings.
So I have the old one out. Now which sealant do I use?
    cheers,
    Murray

    Default Through-hull bedding

Use Sikaflex 292 for metal through-hull fittings. I do not know if the 292 is compatible with Marelon. If not use Sikaflex 295UV black which is compatible with Marelon.

Yes, 3M 5200 (not4200) will work as long as your hull will tolerate a high temperature heat gun should you have to remove the fitting later. Do not use it with Marelon.

    Default Thru-Hull Removal

I am trying to replace a WASTE hose fitting on deck. I removed the screws, but it won't move. Whatever substance was used to glue the metal fitting to the fiberglass is strong. I don't know what was used.

Does anybody know how to remove these fittings?

I don't want to use too much force, so I don't rip out a piece of the fiberglass deck.

    Default Glue remover

I would use on of the stron glue removers in Lowes. Apply it and wait a couple of hours rinse it off and redo these steps 3-4 times and you should be good.
