    Default sailboat wiring

    i have to rewire a friends sailboat (i am a power boater) and need to know if the ground cable from the mast to the keel/scag should also be grounded to the 110/12 volt systems or left seperate to protect the 110/12 volt systems from lightning strike ?????? thanks,,need to know quick so i can get him out for the season.

    The large grounding strap is not part of the electrical system. It is part of the bonding system I believe. Do not attach to battery.
